An early first round victory over the Black and White boys, has enabled the Mice to take a short rest during the play offs. Five spectaculair games proved that a mix up of Black and White makes Grey. Grey is the color of Mice and thus it was not surprising to see the Maple Ridge team walk away with the first round victory...

MAPLE RIDGE - When entering the league, now a few months ago, GM Smolders found one of his players more dead than alive on his roster. Carl Recchi was recorde just above 20%, which means in real life that one is officially clinical dead. In real life one would also assume never ever to be able to skate at all and one can forget a professional ice hockey carreer for sure. How else this is in FHL terms. As normally we would not have expected Carl Recchi to be able to even walk, he is on the eve of his comeback...!

MAPLE RIDGE - Just 4 games after GM Smolders has taken control of the Maple Ridge Mice he entered into a press conference announcing some players to be officially trade listed. The team is looking at its future and some of the current players on the roster just do not fit within the future plans GM Smolders has with his MR Mice. A sour message for some of the players and the fans, but we expect the best of it for the team's future.

MAPLE RIDGE - It is heard around the newly build Mouse Trap that GM Smolders has made his first move in order to form his Mice in his prefered way. 27 Year old, currently rated unassigned at the UFA list, Joe Smith is rumoured to be added to the Mice roster soon. Joe will be a welcome addition to the Mice roster as there are currently only seven defenders on the roster that would be able to see ice time on the pro roster. Two young talented defenders are held in farm team and it is most likely that Bourrassa will be trade listed soon.

MAPLE RIDGE - Big announcement today in small town Maple Ridge where GM Smolders entered the press room of the newly built hockey arena. A lot of press was gathered together to hear the story of the new CNFHL team, downtown Maple Ridge. "Some may know me already, others will soon", were the first few words of GM Smolders once being on stage. "It is a great honour for me to announce that we were able to shift the complete former Lakers' franchise to this cute village Maple Ridge. We have build a new arena, called the Mouse Trap and we are sure it will become a sure trap to a lot of the CNFHL teams coming here to visit us."
The CNFHL is happy to announce that one of their available franchises, the Vernon Lakers, has been sold off to Marcel Smolders. Marcel has decided to ship the team, the newly named Mice, off to play in the Maple Ridge Mousetrap in British Columbia. He has also established the team's farm team affliation with the Rodents. Please join us in welcoming Marcel to the league.
Vernon, BC:
The Vernon Lakers have been one of the quietest teams in the league. GM Olsen has usually been one of the more outspoken GM's in a lot of different leagues. But for some reason he has not been very boisterous.
They had a pretty good draft and, although they did not pull out a jewel, they did not too bad. But what they are looking for now is a number one goalie. With Manthorpe's departure the team does not have a number one goalie. But remember last season they never had a starter either. So now they are in the market to acquire one and they are willing to deal.
The Mountaineers have released a statement this morning indicating they are shopping the 12th overall pick this season. It is rumored the GM is satisfied with the amount of youth on the team and would be looking at cash and or a veteran player for the pick. This is a great opportunity to get a little younger with a 1st round pick. Interested parties please send and email to the Mountaineers GM.
The CNFHL today unveiled the all-star rosters for this weekend's upcoming All-Star series. The league would like to thank Jasper GM Rick Buckley and Vancouver GM Jesse Edwards for choosing the Eastern and Western squads respectively. The league will simulate a three game series between the two teams starting Friday night and continuing until Sunday, all three games will be played regardless of the outcome of the first two.
Without further delay, here are the two all-star squads.
Eastern Conference
Centre
John Buckley - 99ers
Michael Owen - Cougars
First it was Edwards putting forth a perfect game when the rest of his team mates also put together a perfect game in a 7 - 0 drubbing of the slumping Yukon Horsemen. Then the next night it was the kid Ricky Elias posting a 30 save shutout in a hard fought 1 - 0 victory over the Vernon Lakers that was decided late on Anakin Skywalker's blast from the point that went top cheese on the games 2nd star Jeff Manthorpe.
