Back to 2-2

After two pathetic performances at home (0-5 and 2-5 losses) , the Citadels players finally found a way to even the series to 2 games each and will come back to Halifax with a positive momentum. Now it is time for them to show that the Home Ice advantage is a fact and to offer the fans who have waited a way too long while for a won series ! The last two wins came despite the awful level of the 2nd line wingers Dahlgren and Prodix who combined for -10 and 42 PIM for only 1 goal (for the Right Winger) and 1 assist (for the Left winger) so far in the playoffs.

It will be more expansive to watch the Citadels !

After the last game in Halifax tonight, the Citadels organisation has officially announced that they will raise the price of the tickets by 3$. It will now cost 48$ to go and watch the local games. "Our tickets were among the cheapest of the league, some teams ask for more than 55$, so I don't think this raise is such a big deal." said Christophe Maire in the press conference. Of course, there are already a lot of disappointed fans in Halifax who protest against this decision but it seems this only needs the "ok" from the league to be applied to the first game of the season.

Citadels on the trade market

With only 10 played games in this season, The Citadels organisation has already spotted a very unbalanced situation : their wings. While there are 5 very good players on the left wing , the right wing is really weaker, which means 2 big problems : Fredrik Dahlgren who is supposed to be the future all star player of the team has to play on the 4th line and the team has to put Craig Prodix on the 1st line while he is , at best, a 2nd liner in the league.

Citadels looking for deals

2 RFA Citadels are now available for trade...
Zachery Bruce 27 C 81 204 71 90 81 78 80 52 80 89 87 69 84 37 43 85
Ernesto Sabato 29 RW 72 205 85 81 91 84 91 85 83 72 90 65 88 37 20 85

Like many other Teams, the Citadels are looking for younger players who could play for the pro team in a couple of seasons or for a #1 goalie.

Major disappointment for the Citadels !

"How can we be 3-1 in the series in which we have home ice advantage and lose three games in a row like that ?" were the only words we can publish from the reaction of Christophe Maire, GM of the Citadels after their final 1-3 defeat at home against the Pendragons. The edition of his other words would have been too important as he was closer to angry than disapointed. In substance his words were directed towards the 2 future UFA goalies who did not deliver at all.

Breaking News…

The Jasper Mountaineers have just completed a deal that reunites Billy Jags with the team that drafted him. The trade brings super star Billy Jags and young tough guy Marty Castronova to the Mountaineers in exchange for newly acquire Graeme Story and star winger Tom Sadenko.

Time to make some moves

After an extremly negative season, it is time for Christophe Maire to build a team that can only do better. With the decision of Dman Bunyan to retire, there is a huge hole in this already very weak defense, that's why this is where Maire wants to focus, without forgetting the fact that Fleischhaker proved last year he is only a decent back-up and no real #1 goalie.
Some negociations are already being done, but nothing is confirmed yet. Everyone is available in the team, even Biel or Jags who of course will not leave for cheap though ...

12th Overall Pick Available

The Mountaineers have released a statement this morning indicating they are shopping the 12th overall pick this season. It is rumored the GM is satisfied with the amount of youth on the team and would be looking at cash and or a veteran player for the pick. This is a great opportunity to get a little younger with a 1st round pick. Interested parties please send and email to the Mountaineers GM.
