Mates have better effort but Lose 4-1 to Ice

Czechmates 1 Ice 4 Ice lead series 2-0

It was another night the Mates would have to dig deep and find themselves. With a 7-3 loss in game one, could they muster enough tonight to make this a game. Injured captain, J.Stacer, along with #2 centerman J.Akick were still watching from the press box, while #1 RW'r J.Krakofsky proceeded back to Surrey in hopes to get back into this series for game 4.

'OOOOOOOOOOOOh Caaaaanada we stand on gaurd for theeeeeeeeee'..... it's again..... game time.

Czechmates Freeze at Ice Firepower

Czechmates 3 - Ice 7

As the critics thought, and fans at home knew, this would be a tough series. Even tougher as the team goes without it's top 3 players into game one of the series. After a laser filled stadium show for the Ice introduction.... the Mates stepped onto the ice and it was game on.

Ministry Look To Thaw Ice!

The Vancouver Ministry launch their 14th consecutive post season campaign (something the Trojans wish they could boast about) against the Ice of Edmonton. The season series was a draw at 3 games a piece with the Ministry enjoying a 4 goal advantage.

Vancouver keys to success,
- Bohemier will need to out goaltend all world Ice goaler Derek Vinyard. This will be the biggest key to a round 1 victory.
- The Ministry D-Corp will need to make life uncomfortable for Ice hall of famers, M.Moore, D.Messing, C.Healey and E.Heskey.

12th Overall Pick Available

The Mountaineers have released a statement this morning indicating they are shopping the 12th overall pick this season. It is rumored the GM is satisfied with the amount of youth on the team and would be looking at cash and or a veteran player for the pick. This is a great opportunity to get a little younger with a 1st round pick. Interested parties please send and email to the Mountaineers GM.

CNFHL Announces Season 12 All-Star Rosters

The CNFHL today unveiled the all-star rosters for this weekend's upcoming All-Star series. The league would like to thank Jasper GM Rick Buckley and Vancouver GM Jesse Edwards for choosing the Eastern and Western squads respectively. The league will simulate a three game series between the two teams starting Friday night and continuing until Sunday, all three games will be played regardless of the outcome of the first two.

Without further delay, here are the two all-star squads.

Eastern Conference

Centre
John Buckley - 99ers
Michael Owen - Cougars

Season 12: Who’s in and who’s out?

Western Conference.

The west has traditionally been a conference with many excellent teams. The gap between the have’s and the have not's is usually minor but this season the west begins to change.

Ministry: A veteran laden team with some well priced UFA’s who know there time is now. GM Edwards re-signed the life blood of this team by bringing back goaltender Jesse Edwards. Veteran teams always do well in the playoffs and considering the Ministry made it to the CNFHL finals they could be even better this year. As an elite team the Ministry will be a conference contender and early playoff favorite.

Playoff Preview

Western Conference
Horsemen Vs Wolf Pac - Horsemen have the worst winning percentage of all playoff teams at .414 and really do not belong on the same ice as the Pac. The Wolf Pac are bringing some serious talent to the playoffs and if there goaltending holds up will be a contender for the cup. Wolf Pac in 4 straight.

Black and White Vs Mountaineers - Mountaineers posted more wins than any other western conference team and was the highest scoring team in the west. The B&W are simply a shadow of last years success. Mountaineers 4 straight in a sweep.

Ice Vs Clones - Is there an upset here??? Not a chance. The Ice have as much a chance at winning as an NDP majority federal government. The Clones are built to last but the Ice have some of the best offensive players on the planet so expect a little resistance. Clones in 6.

CNFHL Trade Recap

What teams won, who lost and who did absolutely nothing.

This year was one of the more active trade deadline’s, which created a lot of excitement for hockey fans. Lets begin with the 1st major trade.

To the Horsemen:
Yr:12-Clo 3

To the Clones:
Larry Manilow - RW - 86OV (34yo)

Buckley: This was a great deal for the Clones. Manilow will provide the experience and leadership lacking on the right wing. He also gives them another power forward to attack the opposition. Horsemen basically get something for a player soon to be an UFA. Clones win this deal hands down.

The second major deal looked like this.
