It's gut check time in Surrey as the Czechmates face elimination in the first round of the playoffs. Home ice advantage has been key in this series, as each team has won when playing at home. Advantage Mates..... I think not. The Ice has a handful of capable goal scorers, and if the Mates are to win the next game, they MUST, shut down the offensive threat.

GM Lada"We needed to have a good showing last night and we didn't.... the guys seemed slow and goaltender X.Labelle was NOT playing his 'A' game. Tonight I expect a lot more from every player.... Jon.... (Krakofsky) has never been the complete goal scorer when it comes to the playoffs and he needs to get out of that funk and start burying pucks. The defense has to ensure we keep the puck out of our end....PERIOD."

Captain, J.Stacer currently has 4 points in 3 games... a bright spot but it's S.Knight, UFA this year which has continued to have trouble on the second line. Hopefully with some changes tonight, he'll get the open space he needs to be the player he's been known to be. LW'r A.Matilainen has to get luckier... with 17 shots on net and only 2 goals to show for it.... he has to find the net soon... or there wont be another chance.

It all comes down to tomorrow..... a BIG BIG game..... if the Mates can take it to 7, they could upset the Ice in home Ice.... that would be a booster for the club.... but it all comes down to tomorrows game......
