The Surrey Czechmates (36W-32L-9T- 84PTS) Currently 7th in Conference.
It's been a year in which injuries really took there toll on the Surrey Czechmates. Holding #1 spot in the league for almost half the season, the team has been plagued with injuries which has had the team riddled with different line combinations and others playing off wing. While the Mates have clinched a playoff berth, critics are wondering how this team will fair against there first round opponents. With both top centermen, Jeff Stacer and Jos Akick, out for a week with injuries, the Mates are hoping for there return once the stage is set for game one.
Jon Krakofsky, currently with 47 goals, could still muster up the 50 plateau mark by seasons end , Jon will be one to watch this playoffs. Linemate, Ari Matilainen (29G-37A-66PTS) has been the teams best offensive defensive forward, his +26 status currently has him leading the team. Ari will be required to perform even better once facing opponents battling for the cup.
The biggest issue of concern has been the play of goaltender Xavier Labelle. Has he played to much of the regular season to be at the peak of his game? Currently with a 3.44 GAA, and .875 SV%, Labelle will have to find a second wind because it's not ging to get any easier from here.
