The Surrey Czechmates hold a 1 point lead for top spot in the CNFHL standings over the always a tough game Ice club. The Ice hold 1 game in hand and with the rest of the teams only points away, the Czechmates are sure to find it tough grabbing the CNFHL's top spot by seasons end. Plagued with injuries and suspensions, the Mates have had to endure many games with under developed farm players, and others playing off wings. With a 5-4-1 record in the last 10, this team still finds ways to win games.

The latest injury report has experienced d man, Tommy Moose sidelined for atleast a week. A suprising move which called up farm d man Thadeus Restall to play next game versus the 99'rs despite Maksym Buhaj's return from suspension. Buhaj's days could be numbered as this young talent has played only 18 games due to injuries, suspensions, benchings and PIM.

Another player currently playing under his skill level is LW'r S.Knight. Knight currently holds the teams worst +/- with a -12 which clearly is not tolerable, but he has made up for himself with his team leading 7 PP goals. With this being his final year of his contract, Knight better step it up and show his worth to the team and the league.

RW'r J.Krakofsky, (29G 26A 55PTS +11), has been lighting it up lately. Only 5 points seperates him with D.Messing of the Ice which leads the league in points. In recent talks with Krakofsky, he is looking to make this his season and be the best in the league.

Goaltender X.Labelle hasn't faired as well with the crop of youngsters helping keep the puck out of the zone. His record still stands up top, but his 3.09 GAA and .888 sv% has shown he is vulnerable. He has yet to record his first shut out of the season and if the season continues to be as tough as it's been, he may not see one this season.

GM Lada has been seen in his office cracking open a 26'r of Bacardi during the last 10 games, but would not comment. Has the pressure gotten to the teams mastermind?
