Game 6 Score Clones 2 Czechmates 4 - Series Clones 2 Czechmates 4

There were fisticuffs.... but not on the ice. After the Surrey Czechmates announced a 1000 standing room tickets would go on sale for game 6 between the Czechmates and the Clones, fans flocked to ticketmaster in hordes.
Constable Larshide " We had to call in the dog teams... unbelievable... there were minnie brawls going on... people getting there tickets robbed from them after there purchase as they went back to there cars... unbelievable."

There were 8 arrests, 2 of which were for public drunkeness... and the game was still hours away. Game 6 Re-cap:

Period 1- It was a mad house as the Czechmates began through the tunnel to the ice surface... CZECH ..... MATES......CZECH .... MATES.... the over capacity crowd chanting... edging the teammates on as they prepared for the drop of the puck..... We Stand on Guuuuuard for Theeeee. The first lines took to center ice. The puck would drop and control would begin with the Clones.... puck shot in deep to the Mates zone where Clones K.Harris would be first. B.Skinner would come in hard... pasting Harris into the boards. The refs wanted control over the game and the first penalty of the game would be called just a minute, 22 in. The Clones would hem the Mates in there own zone with some hard work along the boards, keeping the Mates chasing the puck.... then G.O'Riley would spot T.Numminen breaking in from the point and would feed a tape to tape pass which Numminen buried behind Labelle. 1-0 Clones. The fans Ahhhhh'd... but were soon in the chant of Go Mates Go... Go Go Go...Go Mates Go.... and this spurred on there club as they began to take the puck into the Clones zone for some decent opportunities. A fight would then break out, K.Coweison and J.Peterson would be the willing combatants. Fight would be called a draw. 7:50 it was J.Stacer crossing the Clones blue line with J.Krakofsky and H.Guiliano who had jumped in on the play. Stacer would feed Krakofsky who would dipsy doodle passed the defender and feed a cross crease pass to Guiliano who in turn tipped the puck in off the post. 1-1 and the fans went wild.....! The remainder of the period was filled with end to end action... each team would get the chance to take the lead with the man advantage, but both would turn up empty handed for there efforts. Period concludes 1-1.

Period 2- The puck would drop, and this time the Mates would start out... passed center, over the Clones blue line, J.Peterson would drop the puck for J.Akick who fired a hard shot from the top of the circle.... SCOOOOOOOORES...... the fans went wild as Akick was smothered by line mates. 2-1 Mates. Both teams then continued to play that end to end style which favoured the Clones.... but 10 minutes into the period, it would again be J.Peterson crossing the Clones blue line, then dropping to A.Matilainen. Matilainen would stop and feed S.Marsh across the blue line... Marsh would let one fly..... over Stone's shoulder and into the back of the net.... GOOOOOOAL....... pandamonium in the stands... popcorn, peanuts, beer spillage as fans jumped from there seats. 3-1 Mates. The Clones would need to find a way to get the puck to the net.... puck dropped and the Clones would get some pressure... then on a harmless play as J.Bauer crossed the Mates blue line alone, V.Petrusev would double hand high stick Bauer to the ice. Refs call the play and Petrusev would be handed a double minor. This was the Clones opportunity to bring the game back into reach. The Clones would get the puck in deep and work it along the boards. The Mates wouldn't budge though... making the Clones pass instead of shoot.... then as the puck squirted to the Clones defensman, S. Marsh would rush the d man and have the puck go off his skate back passed the d man and towards center ice.... the speedy Marsh would get to the puck first and head in on S.Stone alone... anticipating a shot Stone would back into his net... Marsh wouldn't shoot though... instead backhanding the puck high and over the now sprawling S.Stone for the short handed goal. 4-1 Mates..... what had happened to the firepower of the Clones? Mates would kill the remainder of the penalty and would continue to lead 4-1. Tick Tick Tick.... 19:25, B.Cologan of the Mates would head to the box, but the Mates would continue to hold back the Clones..... period would end. 4-1 Mates.

Period 3- Mates fans would give the players a standing ovation as they ready'd themselves for the final period. Could the Clones come back? End to end action.... 5 minutes.... end to end action... 10 minutes.... end to end action... 15 minutes.... it wasn't until 16:38 of the third that Clones G.O'Riley would find the back of the Mates net, edging the team closer. 4-2 Mates. Tick Tick Tick.... the Clones would take the last 4 minute in play, but Labelle was true to the test.... holding back any threat of a Clones comeback... 3,2,1.... Bhhhhaaaaaaahhhh..... the Surrey Czechmates had done it again, taking down the mighty Clones in 6 games and given themselves a berth in the CNFHL Playoff Finale versus the 99'rs.

So, there you have it.... a Czechmates versus 99'rs Finale...... another test.... the final test for these suprising Mates of Surrey. Catch our Finale Pre Game Report...... I'll see you there.....
